Dual Phase Extraction

PRM manufactures comprehensive dual phase extraction systems for your specific site application. Since this process involves the simultaneous subsurface removal or air, water and product a fully operational system will incorporate numerous pieces of equipment to address all contaminate phases. The primary factor in designing the DPE system will be the applied vacuum. A positive displacement is an option for lower vacuum application and a liquid ring type pump is used for higher vacuum applications. Our typical design will use the liquid ring type pump.

The pump is the primary system component and generally a liquid ring pump is a chosen for these applications as typical vacuum being applied will be 8 -28 Hg. PRM uses Atlantic Fluidic as our primary liquid ring pumps as they have been proven to be very reliable with low maintenance costs.

Typical DPE components may include: Moisture separators tanks  rated for the applied vacuum with a safety factor, properly internally and exterior coating and designed to handle water surges. Header Piping with gate or globe valves for proper balancing and allows for individual well control. Chemical compatible Progressive cavity type pumps for removing the liquids from the moisture separator controlled by an intrinsically safe float switch.

  • Skid Mounted or Containerized Systems
  • Atlantic Fluidic and Dekker pumps
  • Integral heat exchanger with thermostatic bypass
  • High temperature and low oil safety shut down
  • Heavy Duty pump head
  • Oil sealed for quiet, efficient operation
  • Mobile Pilot Units available
